The Kataba is a backless style of Japanese pull saw designed for deep cuts all the way through a material. It can be used with deep timber sections or sheet materials.

The Shogun OK265RCFLD Universal Kataba saw is specifically designed for rip cuts (parallel to the direction of the wood grain). It cuts very fast thanks to its narrow blade and medium fine 16tpi tooth pattern.

The blade has 16tpi toothing with periodic pairs of rip teeth that act as rakers to efficiently remove the waste dust. Capable of Rip, Cross and Angled cuts in all types of timber including man made boards. You can rip down an 8′ x 4′ board with this saw.
The result is highly efficient waste clearance which helps keep the cut on track.

This folding version of the saw has the 2 advantages of being more compact for storage and protecting the teeth of the saw if thy might get knocked during transport.

The blade automatically locks out at in the straight position and 30 degrees past straight to give an alternate hand position.
A lever press, unlocks the blade to re-fold it.
The non-slip handle is made from a rubberised elastomer to give a comfortable feel.

It can be paired with OK265FLD Cross Cut Saw, to handle all eventualities.
Or, since the blade can be swapped out in less than 10 seconds, add the Cross Cut Sawblade only PISOK265 to use with this handle.
