Shogun | Japanese Dozuki Pull Cut Tenon Saw 150mm Length
Shogun | Japanese Dozuki Pull Cut Tenon Saw 150mm Length
Dovetailing, cross-cutting | 150mm length
Japanese saws fundamentally differ from Western saws as they cut on the pull stroke, rather than the push. This means that Japanese saw blades can be made from incredibly thin steel, only removing a tiny amount of waste wood.
The advantages to the user are: a lighter weight tool to handle, effortless cutting through all types of timber and man made boards, greater accuracy through greater control.
To ensure the highest level of accuracy, the Dozuki style saw has a steel spine along the top of the blade keeping it rigid at all times.
The teeth of the blade go through a hardening process known as Electrical-pulse hardening which maintains the sharpness up to 3 times longer than conventional saws. This particular Dozuki saw has a fine tooth pitch to give a smooth finish to the cut.
Applications include dovetailing, tenoning, cross-cutting, box making and general cabinet making.
This small sized Dozuki saw can cut to a depth up to 35mm. The blade fixes to a traditional looking wrapped wooden handle that offers fantastic control.
