Review from Pete Nesirky

We just love hearing from you about your projects and also just how you are getting on with all the brands that you can get from us at TF. We had this badass review from Pete @nesirkycarpentry
which we just had to share!

'I have been a carpenter now for 18years primarily working on floor joists, truss/cut roofs along with a bit of timber framing. So working out in the elements all year round I needed a durable set up.

Over the years I've had plenty general cheap tool brand tool belts. Then over the last 4years I've tried the occidental leather big oxy rig this was a great system just very heavy when wet.

The buckaroo set up I then had was very well made but lacked organisation and capacity, this I use now for any occasional 2nd fix work.
So in the end I've finally settled on the diamondback Wrangel an Elias pouches with a hammer holster and 4inch belt.

I find the 4 inch belt along with the lumber pad offers great support without restricting your movement. It fits nicely and is comfortable to wear even with out suspenders. The Elias pouch has a great selection of tool slots keeping everything organised and easily within reach. I generally just carry the basics day to day but its good having the added space for the occasions when you need extra tools. I've also found the closed pocket comes in very handy. Initially I was sceptical of the hammer holster but once worn in it is perfect even when in crouched positions.

For fixings I chose the Wrangell over the Eagle as it has an extra pocket, giving it the capacity to carry multiple types of fixings without having to mix them or constantly empty and swap over. The tape and speed square pockets are also easy to get to as is the nail bar loop. The material these are made from is super tough and light weight so dries out quickly unlike leather.

When wearing the pouches they stay close to your body which is ideal especially when climbing through trusses. They are 17.5 inches long which may not suit everyone. Weight is something often mentioned when having large capacity set up. Generally though the weight is I've found pretty much what you make it, yes you can carry a variety of fixings and tools but you don't need to load up the entire box of paslode nails in one go.

The only negatives for me are some of the individual tool slots are a bit tight. Positives are plenty of room even with gloves, along with awesome durability.
Overall the last year of using this set up I've been very impressed. I would thoroughly recommend this diamondback toolbelt and pouches. Along with the great service from the team at TFtools.'
